User
Interface How-To
If you want to build a professional looking online
catalog, but you don't know how to write HTML, use fancy web site design
software or program computers then Gamma GenCat is for you.
The GenCat user interface was designed to be both
fun and practical. While it is easy to navigate quickly, most buttons
and text labels have contact sensitive pop-up hints that describe their
purpose. For more information on what each area of the program does, just
use these help pages or visit us online.

When
GenCat is started, a splash screen appears with the software's version
number. Shortly after, if your computer is connected to the Internet,
GenCat will automatically look for software upgrades, new templates
and notes about using the software. This information will appear in
a window over the main screen. You can download the new templates
if you want, or wait until another time. |
The
left side of the GenCat user interface is the Menu panel.
On it you will find the seven buttons that control the software. Use
the menu items to the left on this help page to explore the functions
of each of the buttons on the Menu panel. The right side of
the program contains three panels: Store Information, Work,
and Gamma GenCat Status.
- The Store Information panel, above, tells you
the Site ID, number of categories and items, Store Name and Template
name of the catalog you are building.
- The Work panel, in the center, is where you will
enter all the information about your catalog.
- The Gamma GenCat Status panel, below, tells you
the result of each operation you perform.
